Senior Post Production Technician
Alex has been involved in Film and TV sound since the late 80’s, starting as a production sound mixer and sound editor during and right after film school.
He has industry experience as an ADR and Foley Recordist and Engineer since 1993, at Sound One and SoundTrack in New York. Some of the feature films and television shows Alex worked on include: Arrested Development, Law and Order, The Sopranos, Secrets of the Code (documentary narrated by Susan Sarandon, 2006), 25th Hour (Spike Lee, 2002), Chicago (Rob Marshall, 2002 Academy Award Winner, Best Picture), Chocolat (Lasse Halstrom, 2000), Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (Jim Jarmusch, 1999).
Alex began working at NYU in 2006. He configures many of the sound studios at Kanbar Institute of Film & Television’s Post Production Center. He helps students and faculty on all matters related to sound, from editing in Pro Tools to recording sound effects, narrations and replacing dialog, through to their final mix. He gives tech seminars on the use of location recording kits, editing suites and recording studios. He also holds specialized ADR & Foley Engineering Seminars in which he trains students in depth in these types of studio sessions.
Since 2015, he has also been teaching audio classes at Bronx Community College and Ramapo College in New Jersey.
