Rachel Jenny Schneider

Rachel Schneider is an NYC based multimedia artist and educator. After working for a few years as the Prop Supervisor for Undergraduate Drama at NYU, she is excited to be joining the Collaborative Arts department as the Fabrication Shop Technician.

Before working at NYU, Rachel freelanced for a decade around New York City as a scenic carpenter, welder and painter. She worked at a number of different fabrication shops (including her own) with clients in retail display, events, architectural metal fabrication, general contracting, custom cargo bike design and fabrication and in the theater industry. While freelancing, she also worked in the theater departments at two CUNY schools: Queens College and Queensborough Community College. She then worked as a scenic painter for special effects props for The Specialists Ltd for clients in film, television and theaters around the world.

She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she attended the Production & Design Studio and an Integrated Digital Media MicroMasters Certificate from NYUx.
