Staying Power is an outdoor art exhibition and program series in the Fairhill-Hartranft neighborhood of Philadelphia featuring several artist including Dr. Deborah Willis. Staying Power asks artists, residents of the neighborhood, and visitors: What is your staying power in your neighborhood? What is your staying power in a city and world that are rapidly changing? Staying Power seeks to understand, amplify, and invest in the staying power of Fairhill-Hartranft’s neighborhood residents.
"Willis, who grew up some 25 blocks from Fairhill-Hartranft, photographed female entrepreneurs and their homes, including a baker, Tamyra Tucker, an event organizer, Aisha Chambliss — and Ms. Nandi," writes The Times.
Deborah Willis's photographs in "Black Women and Work," is installed in one of the parks run by the Village of Arts and Humanities, an organizer of the exhibition.
