Alum Sam Contis crops and recombines a series of photographs by photographer Dorothea Lange in an exhibition at PHOTO 2021: The Truth, the Australian International Festival of Photography. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal last year, Contis said that she felt a connection with Dorothea Lange's depression era photographs, commenting that “they seemed so close to pictures I might have made.”
Contis’s work has been exhibited in collections including the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
