Her name might sound familiar, maybe that's because you've seen her credited in The Wall Street Journal, or in The Atlantic, or on the front page of The New York Times. Lurie is now a staff photographer for the San Francisco Chronicle.
Lurie was honored for her intimate portraits of essential workers risking their lives during the coronavirus pandemic, people of color in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood who were disproportionately affected by the coronavirus and portraits of Theo, a homeless 7-year old boy who lives in tents and hotels in Berkeley with his mother.
