No where else in the world can you find the range of disciplines in one school. Over the last 50 years as we forged new programs, built our home in New York and expanded to our global academic centers, institutes emerged. Each are built with shared values, common goals, and a priority for putting students first. The result – a place where artists and scholars create the future.
The NYU Tisch Department of Photography & Imaging is hosting our third annual portfolio review day for prospective undergraduate students. This event is produced in conjunction with the Tisch Open House on the same date.
This event is specifically offered for prospective undergraduate freshman and transfer students to receive feedback on photography portfolios. Each participating student will receive an individual appointment to meet one-on-one with a Tisch representative for a 15 minute review.
Participants must RSVP to receive their individual review appointment.
Participants must RSVP and receive a confirmation with their individual appointment in order to participate in this event. Only prospective students should RSVP. Parents and other guests are not required to RSVP.
Please bring 10 to 15 pieces of original work. You may bring up to 3 examples of non-photo based work (paintings, sketches, sculpture, etc.) If you wish to share your work digitally and don’t have a charged laptop or tablet you can bring, please let us know, and we will make a computer available for you.
Please note: Portfolio Review Day is a part of NYU's Open House events and will not be linked to your admissions portfolio should you decide to apply to NYU.
For more information regarding our application process and portfolio requirements, visit: The DPI Admissions Page.
Prospective Tisch students are also required to complete the Common Application. For more information on the complete admissions process to New York University, visit the NYU Undergraduate Admissions Page.
Tips for Portfolio Reviews:
The outcome of your portfolio review will in no way affect your future admissions process at NYU. This event is offered as an opportunity to receive feedback directly from our department representatives to help strengthen your portfolio presentation for any future purposes. Our formal admissions process is a team effort; no one faculty member has the power to determine a student's admittance.
