About this Event

I, You, We explores the weak boundaries dividing the dichotomies inherent to the human experience such as fiction and reality, human and machine, emotion and rationality, art and business, nature and culture, physical and virtual, ancient and contemporary, body and mind, and individual and collective. In a technologically advanced post-post-modern society that is constantly saturated with information, the walls distinguishing these dichotomies, the walls separating I from You are becoming harder to define. The definition of what it means to be human is not as simple as it was before. And as a result of these colliding opponents, humanity heads towards a collective undefinable unity where I and You are We. Featuring new media artists from various backgrounds, this exhibition explores what it means to be human in a multifaceted reality by examining the past, and recontextualizing it with the present, to raise questions about the future.

The screening is organized by the students from Professor Snow Yunxue Fu’s Emerging Media Studio - Digital Bodies (2021 Fall) course at NYU Tisch School of the Arts to showcase the final Digital 3D Moving Image Artworks.

Digital Bodies is a studio class that examines and explores the current technological applications and conceptual implications of the post-photographic digital human 3D simulations.
