Open Arts instructor Cecilia Mejia was recently hired by American Documentary (AmDoc) as the Vice President of External Affairs. In this role, she will lead strategy and implementation of AmDoc's development, marketing, and communication efforts. AmDoc is a national nonprofit media arts organization which strives to make essential documentaries accessible as a catalyst for public discourse. AmDoc collaborates with filmmakers to amplify their voices and nurture the nonfiction community. More information about AmDoc and Mejia's new role can be found on AmDoc's website.
Mejia also has a new documentary, Who We Become, premiering on Netflix on Friday, December 1st. Produced by Mejia and directed by PJ Raval, the film follows three young Filipino women grappling with an emerging global pandemic while forging unexpected connections with their families.
