ITP faculty member, Mimi Yin, has been selected as a Resident Artist by CultureHub. The CultureHub Residency Program supports creators who experiment with emerging technologies, providing them with space, technical support, and resources to develop new artistic forms that critically examine the role of technology in society.
During her residency, Yin will explore the "grammars" of how bodies communicate. Working across code, choreography, sound, and visual art, she is building a taxonomy of movement-based interactions to distill the core ways bodies connect. Using sound and video, Yin plans to model physical interactions in a matrix of micro-choreographies, focusing specifically on the parameters of timing and distance.
