Stevie Chambers

Headshot of Stevie Chambers

Stevie is a 2nd year ITP graduate student, a new digital artist, lifelong bookworm, enthusiastic creative storyteller, hopeless romantic and altruist who loves coffee, warmth, good music and the night stars. She is an AmeriCorps Alum with a passion for education and a drive to provide (more) access to unaccessible (or barely accessible) activities within urban neighborhoods, specifically in the Greater Newark Area of New Jersey where she was born and raised.

At ITP, Stevie is having a ball learning about things she had previously never thought about learning. Having no valid coding or art/design experience, coming to ITP meant gaining a fresh and new perspective in a sea of students with varying levels of expertise, and allowing herself to figure out what she could produce with what she procures over time. Stevie is responsible for initiating the Drawing + Club at ITP. She served as an organizer for the Inaugural Afrotectopia Festival and is a member of the 2018-19 cohort of the Social Sector Leadership Diversity (SSLD) Fellowship here at NYU. The NYU Leadership Initiative is where she works as the Events and Communications Program Assistant. She hopes to launch her own non-profit organization for the benefit of underserved urban youth. She also aspires to realize her dream of becoming a published YA Fiction Novel Author and to branch out more into the branding and marketing environment.
