Eric Juhola, Supervisor of the Production Office for Film and TV at Tisch, has just premiered his documentary film Growing Up Coy. The film follows six-year-old Coy Mathis, a young transgender girl who was denied the right to use the girl's bathroom at school.
Juhola has said that in screening the film at numerous festivals he will "not only have screenings but also community conversations afterwards, so that we can really start a dialogue about these issues. I think if we get this film out there in the right way we might be able to change some hearts and minds and affect some laws and policy. That would be best-case scenario.”
