José’s upbringing in a conservative and religious Chilean family permeated the stories he tells: stories about queerness, shame, and the search for connection. In 2017 he moved to NYC to pursue his dream of working in film. His first short film, Fervor, won the Grand Jury Prize at NewFest 2021.
