Harshith S. Kotni is an award-winning Indian American director, writer, and producer whose work has screened at the Oscar Qualifying Tasveer Film Festival, SXSW, and more. Raised in a traditional Hindu family while immersed in the tech industry of Silicon Valley, Harshith brings a unique perspective highlighting the rise of the 1st generation Indian American experience during the 2000s tech boom. Harshith began his career directing short plays in Ohlone College’s award-winning theatre program before launching a successful videography business, filming over 50 music videos, commercials, political campaign videos, and wedding events. While at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, he directed Dreamline and Prematho, films that delve into familial dynamics and cultural identity. His experience in line producing and unit production management on projects such as the SXSW Jury Award winner Marvin is Sorry and feature films starring Sean Gunn and Jermaine Fowler honed his skills in budget management and coordinating complex productions. Beyond filmmaking, Harshith is also a skilled tabla player and a 2nd-degree Black Belt, further showcasing his dedication to discipline and artistry.
