Ella is back in New York City after her first year in college with something to get off her chest. When she shares her secret, her parents shut her out. Seeking refuge at a bus stop she calls her aunt to pick her up. As she waits, one girl in a random group of friends, shows Ella in a passing moment a level of compassion that she has never seen before. Ella learns her aunt can not support her in a way that she needs so she once again removes herself from an environment where she does not feel safe – once again alone with nowhere to go. She goes to the pier, and it is the strangers Ella became acquainted with earlier who comfort her, uplift her, and make her feel she will be okay.
