Overwhelmed by her male-dominated family during their annual fishing trip, 14-year-old bright-eyed Kimmy instead decides to hang out with Melanie, the alluring woman dressed as a mermaid in the motel parking lot. But looks aren’t everything, and Kimmy must soon decide whether to continue living under Melanie’s fantastical facade, or embrace the shark-eat-shark nature of the world.
