1950s New York. After immigrating from Shanghai to Upstate New York for more than a decade, the traditional and Chinese-at-heart Mrs. Wang finds herself slowly drifting apart from her Americanized husband and teenage daughter.

Renkai Tan is a Chinese filmmaker and recent graduate of NYU Tisch's Film & Television program. He wishes to connect the East and the West through his film and tells the underrepresented Chinese immigrant stories. His first short, "The Goddess," was acquired by Film Movement for the Blu-Ray release of “The Wild Goose Lake.” "Limitation of Life" is his second and latest film, and the recipient of Panavision's New Filmmaker Grant.
