UGFTV Alum ('16) Connor Smith wins a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach filmmaking in an after-school program in Korea.

Connor was born and raised in John Hughes country outside of Chicago. He graduated NYU with a focus in documentary directing, experimental media, and production design. At school, he also completed a literature-focused minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies, studied at FAMU in Prague, and spent a semester cleaning 16mm films at the Filmmaker's Co-op. Post-grad he became the unlikely keeper of 400+ 16mm films formerly belonging to the Chicago Public Library system.
