It is a pleasure to announce the student winner of the 27th annual Richard Prototin Animaiton Award: Nikki Knight. For her work-in-progress, MAMA, Nikki will receive $1,000 toward completion funds.
This year’s judging was especially difficult because of the high quality of all the submissions. Each applicant is to be congratulated on their work-in-progress. This year’s judges included Professors Sang-Jin Bae, Zoya Baker, John Canemaker, Dean Lennert, and Phil McNagny.
The Richard Protovin Award was established in 1992 in memory of Richard Protovin (1945-1991), founder of the NYU TSOA Animation Program. The funds are allocated to works-in-progress that originate in one of the NYU UGFTV Animation production classes.
