Anniversary
The Department of Drama at NYU Tisch invites you to its 50th Anniversary Theatre Studies Student Symposium on Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm in the Dean’s Conference Room, 721 Broadway, 12th Floor. Tisch Drama has a robust Theatre Studies curriculm, including its demanding Honors Program.
Over the course of the symposium's two days, six panels will showcase the excellent work that students are doing in theatre studies courses. Ranging from academic essays on feminism and performance to autobiographical writing to creative investigations into audience participation, the event will feature students in conversation with Theatre Studies faculty and participants.
"The 50th Anniversary Theatre Studies Student Symposium will highlight the rigorous and cutting-edge work that our students are doing in our Theatre Studies courses," said Alisa Zhulia, Director of Theatre Studies in the Depatment of Drama. "They will present both academic and creative papers on a breathtaking range of topics: the feminism of Hedda Gabler, the murder trial of Lizzie Borden, the ethics of cyborg theatre, the use of food in multi-sensory performance among many others."
