Davide Di Pretoro

Davide Di Pretoro

After dancing FAR for 3 years in Company Wayne McGregor, Davide Di Pretoro is entering his second reconstruction of the piece for NYU Tisch Dance' Second Avenue Dance Company's 2019 October Concert. Individuality was essential for Davide when pinpointing dancers to be apart of this reconstruction on Second Avenue Dance Company. Of course there is a Wayne McGregor way of movement, but it is most necessary that the dancers must understand what is asked of them; use precision, intelligence, and specificity to make the movement unique.

Davide explains this initiative with the words, “clever bodies.” “Bodies that understand what is needed in what I say and what I talk about [in order] to correct the attack of the choreography. Then it is good for me. I want to see how you digest the information I give you. The most important thing (to keep Wayne’s vision to a unior company, like SADC) is to explore his world. We are put into the FAR environment and world.”
