A virtual callback audition is available for Tisch Dance applicants who have received a callback invitation, but cannot attend an in-person audition. Virtual callback auditions are considered as seriously as our in-person callback auditions, and the same team of Faculty evaluators review our virtual applicants.
What To Expect: A virtual callback audition will consist of submitting a video of yourself performing a solo (up to 2 minutes in length, no pointe solos please), submitting a video of yourself responding to an improvisational dance prompt (provided by the Dance Department upon scheduling of your virtual callback), and having a 10 minute interview on Zoom with a faculty member of the Dance Department.
The pre-screen process remains the same for those participating in a virtual callback.
Virtual Callback Guidelines:
Applicants will be notified if they are invited for a callback audition in accordance with the notification plan deadlines listed below. Callback notifications will be delivered by NYU Undergraduate Admissions via email and posted in the Applicant Portal.
Upon receipt of a callback invitation, applicants must schedule their callback audition in the Applicant Portal. Callbacks must be scheduled within 48 hours of receiving a callback notification.
An invitation to a callback audition is not a confirmation of admission. Failure to respond to callback invitation within a timely fashion will impact your consideration of admission to the Dance Department.
Only applicants who are being invited for a callback audition will receive a notification. Those applicants who are not invited for a callback audition will not receive a notification. Being invited to a callback, or not being invited, is not an indication of a final admissions decision to NYU.

PLEASE NOTE:
- The cut-off time for submitting pre-screen materials is 9:00am ET on the date listed above.
- We recommend applicants submit their Common Application one month ahead of the listed final deadlines to ensure they can complete their pre-screen in time. However, NYU Undergraduate Admissions will still accept applications and materials up until the actual deadlines.
- Callback auditions must be scheduled within 48 hours of receiving a callback notification.
