Prior to MIAP, José worked at the Elena Sánchez Valenzuela Digital Restoration Laboratory of the Cineteca Nacional, México. In 2022 he attended the FIAF Film Restoration Summer School and is a 2022 recipient of the Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo scholarship.
