Klavier Wang, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club Archive, Fall 2020
My internship at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club Archive is definitely an eye-opening journey. Through handling and cataloguing La MaMa's historic video recording of their staged shows, I not only improve my skills on audiovisual archiving, but also learn the amazing world of off-off broadway theatre.
This internship provides me a good opportunity to practice and hone my digital skillsets. The variety formats of born-digital video files held by the archive become valuable raw materials for me to conduct research and experiment with different coding tools. Eventually I designed and executed a set of Python coding scripts to improve the current video file managing and transcoding workflow.
