During my internship at LUPA-UFF, I have been working with several collection – some of them were Mauro Domingues‘s 9.5mm Collection and Luiz Caropreso’s 8mm Collection. I was so excited cause I've never handle the small gauges films. It easily get twisted and curled, it require patience during the inspection. I learn to identify several deterioration from sulfurization, mold/ bacteria effect. I had encountered unfamiliar film manufactured brand - ORWO, PERUTZ, FERRANIA. Then, I also learned Portuguese term and film element codes of Brazilian moving images archives such as COx, COz, COy, etc. I got a chance to had a workshop of digital scanning with Filmfabriek HDS+ and cataloguing the films using Airtable.

Cinemateca do MAM
I had a chance to have internship at Cinemateca do MAM for two weeks. I was assigned to work with Candido Portinari's Moving Image Collection from Associação Cultural Candido Portinari. Portinari himself was a prominent modernist artist from Brazil from 1920s to 1960s. I was working with diverse film gauges from 9,5mm , 8mm, 16mm and Super 16mm. The contents were varied from the documentation of his exhibition and family home movies. From 16 films reels, 4 reels were in heavy deterioration condition.
