I interned at NYU Libraries / Barbara Goldsmith Preservation & Conservation Department this semester, getting a lot of film handling experiences. Most of my work was about film inspection. Specifically speaking, I would do condition assessment report, repair bad splices, and add leader for every roll of film. Then, rehouse films with archival cores and cans of NYU Libraries and upload related data to the network. In general, I had completed work on one full collection and worked together with other colleagues on three collections. In addition, I had some film scanning experiences. I learned how to use the film scanner in the film preservation lab and can digitize film independently now.
