In connection with New Films from Japan series at IFC Center on February 10-16, a special conversation on film between Juichiro Yamasaki, director of YAMABUKI and Tom Looser, chair of East Asian Studies at NYU, Genomics at NYU, 12 Waverly Place room G08 (UPDATED), on February 9th from 7pm (Please register here for the talk session.)
This special talk session is organized by Agency of Cultural Affairs, government of Japan (ACA), with the support of the Department of East Asian Studies and the Asian Film and Media Initiative (AFMI) at New York University.
Prior to the talk session, the special screening of YAMABUKI exclusive for NYU students is to take place at IFC Center on Feb 9th from 4pm at IFC Center. Admission is free with RSVP. (Please register here for the special screening.)

New Films from Japan series is the latest presentation of the ACA Cinema Project, representing the buzzworthy films of contemporary Japanese screen entertainment and highlighting the work of award-winning and celebrated filmmakers from Japan to film students, fans, industry insiders, dealmakers, and press in the United States.
Screenings at the IFC Center (323 Sixth Ave - at West 3rd St,) on February 10-16, the lineup includes Kei Ishikawa’s A Man, Shô Miyake’s Small, Slow but Steady, Nao Kubota’s Thousand and One Nights, Yuji Nakae’s The Zen Diary, and Juichiro Yamasaki’s Yamabuki. Director Juichiro Yamasaki will appear for Q&A with the audience following the screening of his film, Yamabuki on Friday, Feb 10th & Saturday, Feb 11th.
