Screening and Talk with Tith Kanitha
Friday, November 6, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Michelson Theater, 721 Broadway, 6th floor

Tith Kanitha (b. 1987, Phnom Penh, Cambodia) works across several artistic media: making sculptures, installations, performances, videos, and works on paper, as well as playing a central role in Cambodian independent cinema, working with the collective Anti-Archive. At Tisch, Tith will screen her 2014 short film, Boding, as well as discuss her forthcoming film, Crab, collaborations with Anti-Archive, and contemporary Cambodian cinema's engagement with community, city, and site in Phnom Penh. This event is in conjunction with Tith's fall 2026 Great Hall Exhibition ស្ដាប់មិនជាក់ កុំអាលញាក់ចិញ្ចើម Journey into Clarity, opening November 4, 2026 6–8pm at NYU's Institute of Fine Arts (1 E 78th Street) and on view through May 2027. The exhibition will feature new work—both organic sculptural forms and works on paper—and will be the artist's first solo institutional presentation in the United States and her New York debut.

Co-sponsored by the Asian Film & Media Initiative at the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies, Tisch School of the Arts and The Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.

This is an in-person event, open to the public. Prior registration is required. Non-NYU attendees will receive emailed instructions for building access and may be asked to present a government-issued photo ID upon arrival. NYU attendees must present their NYU ID.
