Renowned film historian and scholar Antoine de Baecque is the author or co-author of a cornucopia of influential books on the inter-related topics of cinephilia, Cahiers du Cinema, the French New Wave, and History in Film, along with biofilmographies of filmmakers like Francois Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, and, most recently, Eric Rohmer.  The founder of the film journal Vertigo, he was also Editor in Chief of Cahiers du Cinema from 1996 to 1998. In his talk, he will speak of his research methods and of his latest book, co-authored with Noel Herpe,  Eric Rohmer, about to be published in English by Columbia University Press.
