Emily Daymond-King is a Pākehā urban artist, curator, and self-proclaimed excitable nerd, whose passion for art knows no bounds. With a penchant for feminist theory, aesthetics, and the transformative power of found objects, Emily's journey is a colourful exploration of creativity and curiosity. Currently exploring the world, Emily's artistic practice is a vibrant mixture stirred with the ingredients of everyday joy and a mission for aesthetic resistance. With over twenty art installations under her belt, Emily delights in pushing the boundaries of conventional perception, inviting viewers to see the world through a new lens with each exhibit. For Emily, art is more than just a medium of expression—it's a catalyst for personal and political growth and change. Each piece is a testament to her commitment to excite, inspire, and instill hope in her audience, sparking conversations and fostering connection. Crafting a personal manifesto for her artwork, Emily draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of influences, including punk art, literary analysis, and political manifestos, infusing her creations with layers of meaning and nuance. Beyond the paint, Emily is a passionate activist, lending her voice to causes like Fridays for Future and When We Band Together, where she strives for sustainability, collaboration, and dignity without borders. She has a background in Electoral Policy, practice, and strategy, and brings a meticulous eye for detail and a boundless enthusiasm for research to her artistic endeavours.
