Isabella Rivera-Gonzalez
M.A. Arts Politics Class of 2026
Bachelor's in Political Science, Minor in Photography from Simmons University
Isabella (Isa) Rivera-Gonzalez is a visual artist, hailing from San Francisco, California. She is a Salvadoran-American, creating art that centers memory, nature, and community. Isabella uses film photography, digital photography, and polaroids to allow others to experience life through her eyes. She has previously lived in Boston and London, both of which are places where she gathers much inspiration.
Isabella has much experience in the political sphere, working as a legislative aide and on multiple electoral campaigns. Art and politics is something that fuels who she is, and what she creates. She is a storyteller and archivist, believing that she belongs behind her camera instead of in front of it.
What drew you to the M.A. in Arts Politics?
This program in Arts Politics perfectly blends both of my passions. I am really looking forward to explore the intersection of creativity and advocacy in a city as full of life as New York. Coming from San Francisco, I realize how both cities are two sides of the same coin, and am very thrilled to explore those differences through the lens and help of this program.
