Sydney Tang is an art history and visual culture scholar based in the United States and Japan. Graduating from Sophia University's Faculty of Liberal Arts with a BA in History and Political Science, her research is focused upon the shaping of contemporary East Asian art by the region's political climate.

What drew you to the MA in Arts Politics?

With my academic background in public policy and experience of working at a contemporary art gallery in Tokyo, I was looking for a master's program that could build upon my former training. Upon finding the Arts Politics department at NYU, it seemed to be the ideal environment in which I could further my interests in an interdisciplinary manner.
