M.A. Arts Politics Class of 2021

BA Studio Art, Vassar College

Painter, Poet, Sculptor, Installiationist, Performer, Videographer, Drag Queen;

Saigon-born, I am Vietnamese-American immigrant and a first-gen college student. I am also a queer non-binary person who is trying to navigate being an immigrant on stolen land, and being an inheritor of war and colonization.

I write to heal. I paint to be remembered. I perform to exist.

What drew you to the MA in Arts Politics?

I was and am very interested in the liberation studies and how I, as an artist, can wield certain powers to educate and disrupt. I was drawn to this program because it felt like what I needed in order to sharpen my voice, and my practice. I also wanted to meet other artists in the same trajectories as I am, in hope of creating a collaborative community.
