MA Arts Politics Class of 2017

BA English, The College of New Rochelle

Amelia Ellis is a New York-based blues and folk singer-songwriter. She has worked in educational publishing, the theater—both on- and off-stage—and frequently gigs in the Manhattan area.

Her main interest is improving the quality of life for youth through the intellectually, emotionally, and physically freeing experience of music in all its forms, pieces, and abstractions, and to use music as a tribal force to collectively improve the lives of those whom society has forgotten, belittled, or abandoned.

In her free time, Amelia enjoys reading—her favorite authors include Goethe, Thomas Mann, and Ray Bradbury—and arts and crafts such as whittling, origami, and knitting. She moved a lot growing up, but considers Plymouth, Massachusetts her hometown.
