Alexander Cavaluzzo

Alexander Cavaluzzo is a Manhattan-based writer and artist. He has been on the mastheads of Interview, Hyperallergic, and Newsweek, and contributed his writings on culture to dozens more publications. His multimedia art has been displayed across New York City, Miami Art Basel and in at least one psychiatric facility. He was once featured alongside Marc Jacobs in an issue of WWD Japan, for his genderfuck styling.
What drew you to the MA Arts Politics program?
In the midst of working on my undergraduate thesis about Marxism and the work of Andy Warhol, I realized that I wanted to pursue graduate studies revolved around the merging of aesthetics and politics—I was about to apply to Gallatin until I saw, miraculously, the major in my head already existed in the institution.
