Savanah Pennell
Arts Politics MA student Savanah Pennell has recently been awarded the Tisch Initiative for Creative Research grant for graduate research. With her funding, Savanah has traveled to the United Arab Emirates for the Sharjah Biennial 14: Leaving the Echo Chamber, in order to investigate how socially engaged and political art functions in the biennial setting. With her research, Savanah will be writing a reflection and review that will be made available to the NYU community. She will also be presenting her findings in a talk at NYU, and she is the process of creating a video art piece that is based on her experience in Sharjah as well.
