Arts Politics Alum Opens 'Black Art Library' at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit

Asmaa Walton '18 has just launched the Black Art Library at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. It will remain at the museum until April 18, 2021.

Black Art Library is a mobile installation and living archive that invites visitors to interact with the material and engage the rich legacy of Black artists and Black art history. The collection, built by Walton largely through an open call for donations, includes artists monographs, memoirs, children's books, exhibition catalogs, biographies and other art items.

The Brooklyn Rail will present a program with Black Art Library on Thursday, February 11, 2021
