APP Alum Laylah Amatullah Barrayn’s curated exhibition opens on November 3rd at The Ethelbert Cooper Gallery at Harvard University!

Save the date for APP alum Laylah Amatullah Barrayn (2020) curated exhibition opening 3 November 2023 at Harvard University! On the project, Laylah said:

“Day One DNA is an immersive multimedia exhibition that commemorates half a century of hip hop culture through the archives of icons and longtime collaborators IceT and Afrika Islam. I often speak about the personal archive as a means to establish a legacy. The archive is also a powerful storytelling device that can reflect broader cultural narratives. Spending time with their collection allowed me to witness the beginnings and the unfolding of hip hop culture through their eyes, their friendship and artistry. I hope to see you at the show!”
