Deep Thinkers

In response to the landmark exhibition Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers, The Guggenheim New York kicks off its fall season with a programming partnership with the Center for Black Visual Culture at New York University for the month of October. From weekly performances and readings in the Rotunda to a Students First: Soundscape by students from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, this vibrant lineup of public programs invites audiences of all ages to experience the museum in unexpected ways.

Performance programming in the Rotunda will be curated by the CBVC and will feature Emmy and SAG-nominated actor, musician, and writer Tituss Burgess; pianist and composer Kwami Coleman; Grammy-and Tony-nominated actor, singer, and director Michael McElroy; multidisciplinary artist José Parlá; and the Candice Hoyes Quartet. Clive Davis Students First: Soundscape will take place Friday, October 3, 6 – 8 pm. Performances take place every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and are free with museum admission.
