BFA Drama, Minor in Art and Public Policy
NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Class of 2022

Francisco Morandi Zerpa (any pronouns) is a queer venezolanx actor and theatre maker. He is in his final year at the tisch undergraduate drama department with a minor in art and public policy. Francisco first learned about our department after Chair and Professor Pato Hebert gave a lecture during the Tisch Exposition Writing Program’s Plenary series during francisco's freshman year at NYU. Looking for a way to merge his arts practice with his political practice, francisco has since gone on to study with professors Kathy Engel, Laura Harris and Anna Deverve Smith.

Some of Francisco’s favorite parts of doing a minor at APP are the breadth of guest speakers students are able to interact with and the ways the program stresses that every creation is both a question and a conversation. “In a conservatory program, it’s easy to interact with only actors, but doing a minor in APP opened me up to meeting all different kinds of artists.”

When Francisco is not acting, he works as a dramaturg and as a verbatim theatre maker with the Verbatim Performance Lab. He idirected the NYU Tisch studentworks production 'decaer' at tisch's shop theatre and has begun work on two student productions at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School-- 'our house on mango street' as a dramaturg and 'butterfly and ernie went looking for the birds' as an actor.
