In response to a growing need to provide education, training, and job opportunities to support working voice actors, Tisch alumnus Rudy Gaskins ('89, Kanbar F&TV) and his wife Joan Baker established The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS).
SOVAS' mission is to connect job seekers to training, education, mentoring, and employment opportunities. Special events help by the group eventually evolved into an annual career expo called That's Voiceover! Held annually, this event brings together the best of the VO community for outstanding networking and educational opportunities.
By recognizing a need for such opportunities for Voice Actors and acting upon that, Gaskins and Baker have created a strong resource and community. For more information, resources, or to get involved, please check out their website at www.sovas.org.
