Colleen Kenny

Colleen "Col" Kenny is an accomplished entrepreneur, marketing expert, and college professor currently serving as a sales communications manager at Google. Over her dynamic career, she has mastered the art of spreading ideas, influencing behavior, and driving change. Both a creator and consumer of content, Colleen enjoys humanity's endless pursuit of understanding and growth, echoing Mark Twain's belief that "Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand." 

With more than two decades of experience in marketing, communications, and content leadership at Fortune 100 companies such as New York Life Insurance Company and CBS Television Network, Colleen has developed content strategies for globally recognized entertainment, media, and financial services brands. Her journey has taken her through Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Silicon Valley/Alley during the transformative rise of social media and streaming platforms. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish two successful ventures: ColRock LLC, a boutique content consultancy launched in 2019 that served corporations, startups, nonprofits, and individuals, and The Write College in 2022, which offers college essay and application coaching to students worldwide. 

As an adjunct professor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Union County College in Cranford, NJ, Colleen brings her real-world expertise into the classroom, exploring the impact of generative AI on the entertainment, media and communications ecosystem and guiding students in their studies and career pursuits. She holds a Master's degree in Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish. Committed to social impact, she serves on the Board of Prescription Justice, a nonprofit organization advocating against high drug prices in America, and actively participates in the New Providence Mental Health Advocacy and Education Committee. Additionally, Colleen is certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
