Colleen Kenny

Adjunct Instructor

Colleen "Col" Kenny is an AI education strategist, consultant, and adjunct professor whose career spans Hollywood, Silicon Valley, and higher education. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in learning by doing: she brings two decades of real-world experience navigating disruption at the highest levels into the classroom — from her years as VP of Marketing Communications at CBS, where she launched properties ranging from The Big Bang Theory and the CBS All Access streaming app to live sports and news events like Super Bowl 50, to her later consulting work with TikTok, Google, Scripps, and other tech and media brands.

At Tisch, Colleen teaches Conquering Content Chaos: Film Marketing and Distribution in the Attention Economy, exploring entertainment marketing, AI literacy, and cross-platform storytelling in an industry being remade by generative AI in real time. She favors nontraditional, hands-on formats over lectures and pushes students to experiment, build, and take risks. She is currently a doctoral researcher at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Education, studying the design of learning environments, and is the creator of Human-AI-Human, a human-centered AI framework for K–12 educators. Her wide-reaching relationships across entertainment, tech, and academia regularly bring working practitioners and emerging AI tools into her students' orbit.

Colleen holds a Master's degree in Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with honors, earning a B.A. in English and Spanish. She serves on the Board of Prescription Justice and is certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
