David Britton
Assistant Arts Professor
David Britton is a sound designer, composer, and educator whose work spans television, film, interactive media, and experimental sound art. He holds a BFA in Film & Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he also began teaching as an adjunct faculty member in 2021. In 2025, he joined the university as an Assistant Arts Professor.
David’s professional credits include serving as dialogue editor on Blue's Clues & You!, and sound designer on Netflix’s Dee & Friends in Oz and Disney’s RoboGobo. He is the co-founder of Oof! Records, an independent label launched in 2020 dedicated to emerging artists. His creative output includes sound and music for multi-sensory installations, video games, and podcasts. His work has been featured in award-winning films at Sundance, SXSW, and the Tribeca Film Festival, and has drawn recognition from artists such as Moses Sumney.
As a filmmaker, David’s own projects have screened at festivals including the Boston Underground Film Festival, the Woodstock Film Festival, and the Chattanooga Film Festival. His debut album Qualia was released in 2020, with his follow-up, Futility Arts, set to release next year.
