Jonathan Yi

Jonathan Yi is a director and cinematographer.

His award-winning documentary feature film "Mad Tiger" was called "one of the top 10 documentaries to watch" by Indiewire and ran in theaters for several months nationwide and internationally. It is now available on major streaming platforms.

Jonathan has shot music videos for Paul McCartney, Twisted Sister, Poison, Daniel Johnston, Mates of State, The Locust, and many more. He directed President Jimmy Carter for One America Appeal, which brought together five living former U.S. Presidents in one PSA for the first time in history.

Yi directed all 5 seasons of HBO's most viewed and awarded multicultural series "East of Main Street." He was also a director of Nickelodeon's hit show "All That."

His client list in the advertising world includes Nike, FedEx, American Express, T-Mobile, Microsoft, and Dos Equis, among many others. Yi's work has been showcased in such magazines as Creativity and Vice. His campaign for Virginia Tourism, "Virginia Is For Lovers," won an ADDY (Gold for Film, Video and Sound) and MoMA at the AICP Awards honored him for his advertising work with

Jonathan served as Technical Advisor for Canon USA in the development of Cinema EOS and the C300. His promo video helped launch the C300 to be the most popular camera in the world within its first year on the market.

Yi is an expert in XR production, leveraging his experience and knowledge from working in video game production (Rock Band), motion capture (Chicago 10), and animation (Little Einsteins, Codename: Kids Next Door) blended with his experience as a live-action Director of Photography.
