Orianne Barki

Orian Barki is a documentary filmmaker based in NY. Orian shoots and edits a lot of her raw and character driven documentaries herself. Her animation series 2 Lizards was described by The New York Times as “hypnotic…deploying a blend of documentary structure and animation surrealism…both poignantly grounded in actual events and also soothingly fantastical” and its animated protagonists “art stars.” (Jon Caramanica, April 2020). The series was acquired by the MOMA museum and the Whitney Museum for the permanent collection and other private collectors. It was on view in the Whitney Museum from October 2022 - February 2023. Orian is currently Co-directing her first animated feature, with Meriem Bennani. The film will be premiered in October 2024 in the Prada Museum in Milan. Orian’s work has been featured on ESPN, PBS, Fader, Vogue, Nowness, Le Cinema Club, Dazed Magazine and more.
