What's your Career Success Story?
After moving to Los Angeles after graduation, I secured representation and am enjoying a career in TV, Film, and Commercials. I have booked Grey's Anatomy, Devious Maids, Scandal, Rizzoli & Isles, and a yet-to-be revealed indie film, as well as commercials for Google, Walmart, and Time Warner.
What aspects of your education, including internships and/or student projects, helped you get this?
The Q + A industry panels at Tisch as well as one-on-one career guidance helped me gain the confidence to move to a brand new market and reach out to Tisch alums there.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to accomplish this same achievement?
My best advice would be that the industry rewards people who innovate and set new trends, not those who latch on to on-going trends that have worked for other people. Don't be afraid to stand out and aggressively market yourself. After all, if you aren't the one who stands out, you probably won't be the one who gets cast.
