  • Climate Action Conference

    Humanity is facing a global climate emergency, and we must act now to address the environmental, economic and political issues contributing to the problem. The Climate Action Conference will be held March 10 and 11, 2017, and aims to mobilize individuals and groups across disciplines and practices. The conference will feature some of the leading figures in the environmental movement as well as leaders from diverse fields such as climate science, medicine, public policy and the arts, as well as elected officials and impacted citizens.

  • Danspace Residency 2017

    In 2017, Tisch School of the Arts will be in residence at Danspace Project from June 12 – June 17. The residency will be dedicated to supporting one of each: faculty, staff, undergraduate student, and graduate student. Current faculty, staff, and students at Tisch are eligible, and successful applicants must be available and present for all residency time for which they are assigned. The panel reviewing applications and making recommendations will include Tisch alumni who were past Danspace Residency grantees.

  • Cross-Tisch: GIAS Working Groups

    The Global Institute for Advanced Study (GIAS) is a nascent initiative at NYU that represents a significant University investment in research and scholarship. In 2015, faculty from Tisch School of the Arts submitted two separate requests for three-year GIAS Working Groups and both were awarded full funding for activities which launched in 2016. Pato Hebert (Critical Collaboration) and Dr. Andy Teirstein (Translucent Borders) presented on their work so far and shared plans for the next phase of their projects.

  • Catwalk Residency Opportunity

    In Spring 2015 the Tisch Initiative for Creative Research initiated a partnership with Catwalk Institute in Catskill, NY, offering residency opportunities for alumni, faculty, and staff! We now invite proposals for residencies taking place between April - October 2017. Applications due by 5pm on February 17, 2017.
