Critical Response Process Workshop
The Critical Response Process, created by Liz Lerman, is a four-step process that combines the power of questions with the focus and challenge of informed dialogue. Since its inception, CRP has supported artists of all disciplines, as well as elected officials, leaders of arts and cultural institutions, educators, scientists, and many more.
On October 22, 2020, during NYU Tisch's Week of Community, Erika Moore led a training session with Tisch students and staff. This two-hour session was organized to help participants learn the philosophy behind the four-step process created by Liz Lerman and John Bortel over 20 years ago.
Registered participants represented all institutes within Tisch. A powerful feedback session was facilitated with a student from Dramatic Writing. Both the artists and the responders reported that it was a very informative session, giving insight into the way one listens, generates questions, and feels seen and heard – something we all need during this time.
