In November 2023, Juan Arias, a Ph.D candidate in Tisch's Department of Performance Studies, traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to attend the fifth biennial PARSE conference:“Powers of Love: Enchantment to Disaffection" and to present their paper entitled "Picar para tamal and La vamo’ a tumbar: Two Forms Of Violence To Turn Somebody Into A Tamale". Juan Arias was a recipient of the CRS Travel Grant Initiative and their travel and attendance was supported by Tisch's Center for Research & Study.
