Initiatives & Grants

  • Ticket Request Initiative

The CRS Ticket Request Initiative enables faculty to apply for funds to attend curriculum-related performances, museums or lectures within the NYC area. The program is designed to encourage faculty to take small groups of students to shows or exhibits (or anything else that might involve a ticket purchase). The aim is to fund trips to events that will enhance and relate to topics students are studying, so the events are required to be related to course curriculum.

  • Faculty-sponsored Event Support

CRS will help support faculty-sponsored public events (guest speakers, roundtable discussions, symposia) linked to its three departments pedagogic and research activities.

  • Faculty Book Publication Grant

CRS will offer support to each CRS department to support full-time faculty book publishing. One grant will be available per department/year.

  • Student Travel Grants

The Center for Research & Study offers two different student travel grants: the CRS Conference Travel Grant and the CRS Research Travel Grant. These are designed to support eligible students in good academic standing in the three CRS departments.

  • Tenure-track Junior Faculty Manuscript Workshop

The CRS Tenure-track Junior Faculty Manuscript Workshop assists tenure-track junior faculty in their progress toward completion and submission of their first book to a scholarly press. The day-long workshop includes in-depth feedback to a book manuscript draft in advanced stage which will likely be the basis for the junior faculty’s promotion and tenure.
