Risky Gatherings acknowledges both the power and the uncertainty embedded in the act of coming together. What are we willing to, or demanded to, lose in order to share? What dangers can we face together that we cannot alone? We invite inquiries around the complex problems and promises of intimacy, proximity, sensitivity, and contamination.

The Institute of Critical Studies in the Arts (ICSA) helps organize and fund the yearly Student Graduate Conference, curated, programmed, and led by advanced graduate students from the three ICSA departments — Performance Studies, Art & Public Policy, and the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies. The fourth ICSA Graduate Student Conference will take place March 5th and 6th, 2027.
